What have you found challenging about math this year?

I have found that doing Parentheses are a lot harder than they seem. I think that this is challenging for me because I don’t know the order of the order of operations very well. I also think that these are challenging for me because Parentheses confuse me a bit when I read them so I have to go back a couple more times and read them again. I feel that if I sat down for a while and memorized the order of operations it would be much easier for me. I also think that if I kept reading them over and over again I would start to figure out how to read them that’s easier for me.

What have you done to overcome these challenges?

When I had homework that had Parentheses in it and I couldn't figure out the problem myself I would call my dad over for help. He helped me find out that I was having troubles with the order of operations. He has talked about the order of operations with me but I didn't really understand. I get the order of operations a little bit but I don’t know everything. I think that I’m going to try to go on IXL and try to master the Parentheses unit.

What are you most proud of in math this year? Explain why

didn't am most proud of my Million Dollar Project! I am most proud of this project because I spent loads of time figuring all of the challenges and ups and downs out. The hardest part for me would have to be researching all of the prices and writing them onto the Excel document. I think that this was hard for me because at some points I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. The easiest part for me was finding my house, at the beginning I thought that this part would be the hardest but really it wasn't that bad.

What is your personal goal in math for the rest of the school year? Why?

My Goal is to try and do more IXL. I think that this should be my goal because I've never really done it. Then when I checked PowerSchool my grades had plummeted. I also think that I should use more PowerSchool because it will help me get better at whatever I’m having troubles with. I have been doing a lot more IXL lately and I’m very proud of that.
