My information

Some Abiotic factors that help these type of animals live in the desert are things like cacti. They provide shelter, and water for multiple species in the desert. Also, another abiotic factor in the desert is Sand Dunes. It prevents soil erosion by storing sand that replaces the eroded sand below it so that the theres always the same amount of sand all the time.
Some Biotic factors that help these type of animals live in the desert barethings like burrows that they can make under the sand to protect themselves from the heat of the day.
  • Desert Tortoise - Hard shell to protect from enemies and has shade
  • Desert Bighorn sheep - Their claws are adapted to walk on two inch trails and to dig through cactus for water
  • Javelina - Have a gland that produces oil and that strong oil helps them mark their territory
  • Thorny Devil - Their spikes help channel water to their mouths
  • Meerkat - Membrane on their eyes that block out unneeded sun
  • Cactus Feruginous Pygmy Owl - They can live anywhere but they decide to stay in the safe habitat of the cactus
  • Cactus Wren - They drink very little but when they do, they don't drink that much
  • Greater road runner - Its extreme quickness allows it to snatch a humming bird or dragonfly from midair.
  • Fennec Fox - Their fur is like a camo for them
Special adaptations that alllow these animals to live in this biome is deriveing water directly from plants, particularly cactus. Also, another biotic factor is that the drought-tolerant plants can survive with minimal water, desert plants, wildflowers, trees and shrubs use the energy of the desert sun to produce more plant life, which serves to fuel the desert animals and insects.
  • Termites
Termites has a very important role in the desert. This role is that the termites’ ability to metabolize cellulose with a mutualistic symbiotic relationship allows them to decompose dead plant material and recycle the nutrients back to the environment. Termites are the most important decomposers in dry environments because they can recycle nutrients, form soil, and retain moisture. Most animals know the best trick to beating the heat too. They sleep during the day and come out during the night when it’s cooler.

One adaptation in the desert is the cactus. This is that it can adapt to its desert habitat by instead of growing leaves, desert cacti produce spikes and a spine capable of holding and storing enough water to survive. Animal wise, they are cold blooded so they aren't as hot as warm blooded species like us.
